Therapy Logistics FAQ’s
-
My fee is $180 for 50 minute sessions for individuals and $200 for couples.
I have a limited number of sliding scale openings in my practice. Please inquire if fee is a barrier.

I am not in network with any insurance companies, but I am able to provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company to receive out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Questions to ask your insurance company are:
Is out of network therapy covered?
If so, what is the reimbursement rate? (some insurance companies will cover 50% of the fee, some 75%, etc.)
Is there a deductible that needs to be met before reimbursement will start?

I start therapy with weekly sessions. Meeting less frequently makes it hard to build a foundation and establish enough momentum to see growth.
Some clients decide that meeting twice a week is more supportive for what they are going through, or they want to meet more frequently in order to get the support to do deeper work.

Therapy is a deeply personal process that is co-created between therapist and client. I’m trained in a variety of modalities and will always be tracking what works and what doesn’t, and also will routinely ask about how we are doing, and how the therapy is going.
In sessions, I might help you track what’s happening for you underneath the content of what you’re sharing. What are the repeated narratives or nervous system states that you go into? How might your past be impacting how you are responding to the present?
We might look at how you’ve been shaped, not just by your early caretakers, but also by cultural forces such as race, immigration, sexuality, and gender. What are the ancestral lineages and intergenerational traumas and resiliencies that you carry.
We might explore how what’s coming up in our relationship is similar to what comes up for you in other relationships in your life. When these patterns present themselves in the therapy room, we have an opportunity to work with them in real time. The therapy room becomes a laboratory where we can work in the present moment, and you can take these learnings into your life.
We might work with dreams, fantasies, day dreams to better hear what’s underneath the surface of your knowing, and bring more into your conscious awareness.

While a therapist-client relationship is a very unique relationship, it is a relationship. So in some ways, choosing a therapist might be similar to how you choose other relationships in your life. How do you feel when you’re with them? What happens when you bring up a challenge in the relationship? Are you able to communicate effectively?
Take the next step.
